Today (Thursday 19th February, 11am-2pm) sees the first of a series of free weekly creative workshops for children at Coopers Square, in partnership with Imaginarium Creations

Burton families are invited to attend free creative workshops, the first of which takes place today between 11am and 2pm. These sessions will continue every Thursday until 2nd April, giving families the opportunity to take part in fun activities covering music, storytelling, and hands-on creative play.
The programme is designed especially for young children, with early years music and storytelling tailored to ages 0-5 and arts and crafts for ages 5+. All sessions are free to attend on a drop-in basis with no booking required.
That isn’t all, for there will also be a pop-up shop alongside each session, welcoming donations and exchange of children’s clothes, toys, and books, as a more sustainable and affordable way to access age-appropriate items.
Baljit Kooner, Centre Manager at Coopers Square, said: “We are passionate about creating experiences that bring families together and make Coopers Square more than just a place to shop. Partnering with Imaginarium Creations allows us to provide free, enriching activities for local children during half term and beyond. We’re proud to be able to offer weekly sessions right through to April, giving families something consistent and positive to look forward to.”
Liga Orlovska, Event Leader at Imaginarium Creations CIC added: “Our aim is to create safe, inclusive, and inspiring spaces where children can explore creativity through music, storytelling, and art. These sessions are designed to support early development while also giving families time to connect and play together. We’re excited to be working with Coopers Square to bring these free workshops to the Burton community.”
Enabling these workshops to happen is the funding granted to Imaginarium CIC by the National Lottery Community Fund. This ensures the programme remains free for families, while also reinforcing Coopers Square’s dedication to supporting the local community.
