Statutes is back in Burton from Sunday

Pat Collins Fun Fairs have been associated with Burton for over 100 years.

The Statutes Fair, operated by Pat Collins Fun Fairs, will be returning to Burton town centre this year, taking place from Sunday 4 to Tuesday 6 October in the Market Place and the surrounding areas of High Street, Lichfield Street, New Street, Manor Croft and Manor Drive.

The Fair will be open to the public at the following times:

  • Sunday 4 October, 12.30-11pm
  • Monday 5 October, 12pm-11pm
  • Tuesday 6 October, 12-11pm

Fairground staff will arrive on site on the evening of Saturday 3 October to begin building the fair.

Road and car park closures will also be in position from 4pm on Saturday 3 October until 6am on Wednesday 7 October, allowing the funfair to close, clear, the streets to be swept and normal business to resume.

Road closures include:

  • Market Place – Closed to all traffic
  • High Street – Closed to through traffic from its junction with Station Street to Lichfield Street
  • New Street – Closed to through traffic from its junction with High Street to its junction with Union Street
  • Lichfield Street – Closed to traffic from its junction with High Street to its junction with Bond Street
  • Abbey Street – Closed to traffic from its junction with Lichfield Street to its junction with Fleet Street

Pat Collins Fun Fairs have been associated with Burton for over 100 years. The Statues Fair is the modern-day successor to the traditional labour hiring fair that was historically held in the town each year on the first Monday and Tuesday after Michaelmas.

Councillor Paul Walker, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said “it’s great to see the Statutes Fair return for another year, lighting up the streets of Burton and providing entertainment for both residents and visitors alike”.

I hope all those that attend have a wonderful time!
