Issue three of the newspaper is out now.

Issue Three of the Burton Echo arrived at the office today, and we’re so excited to begin distributing copies around the town!
We’ll be making drop-offs at local pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, barbers, businesses, and so on. If you run anything like one of these and would like to stock the issue yourself, please do get in touch!
I write on the cover of this issue – my first as Editor – that years of decline in local media does not have to reflect a loss of interest. In many cases, outlets just stopped being local.
Here in Burton, the interest certainly still exists, and it is the aim of this paper to see that it is satisfied.
I’ve been overwhelmed by the number of really positive story submissions we receive, and genuinely think we will soon be able to make the paper a monthly publication.
This latest issue contains a number of new features, such as an agony aunt column (‘Ask Annie’), a Classified page – highlighting local job postings, bands looking for musicians, and wedding announcements – and designation sections on local music, pubs, business, schools, and more.
For these to really work properly, we need your participation, so please do get in touch to tell us about the events you’re running, big celebrations you’ve got coming up, sporting fixtures you’re taking part in, and we’ll make sure the town knows about it.

There’s plenty more in the works for future issues – especially a look at the ‘Goings on About Town’. Details to follow!
