Local artists showed what they could do while the public streamed in and out between Main Stage changeovers with the Leisure Society finishing off the afternoon before heading to the town hall to play a historic gig at the Town Hall.
Massive thanks to Tracey Parr at East Staffordshire Borough Council for letting Burton Radio & Echo host the Market Hall Sonic Boom Festival stage and especially Sonic co-founder Andi Jepson for his strategy to drive traffic to the hall to buy tickets, grab a drink, get some merch and meet the main stage artists.
We wanted as many local artists to play as possible, and sandwiching two between main stage switcheroos hadn’t been done before…but, it was absolutely brilliant – every artist was amazing, creative and different, and really highlighted the quality we have in our neighbourhood. To have The Leisure Society play at the end was a cherry on the top of a brilliant day.
