Branston Town Council has announced a new community initiative that will see large decorative pickle pots installed across the parish to celebrate local heritage, support biodiversity, and encourage residents to explore key locations.
Branston Town Council has launched the Branston Pickle Pot Trail, a project designed to brighten green spaces with uniquely designed pickle pots created by local artists and community groups.
Part of the council’s Greener Town Campaign, the trail will feature large decorative pots at key locations including the PEACE Garden opposite Branston Village Hall, Clays Lane Pavilion and Sports Field, the entrance near Ryknelds Primary School, and Regents Park.
Each pickle pot will include interpretive plaques and QR codes sharing local history, sustainability messages, and information about Branston’s connection to food manufacturing. Local businesses will have the opportunity to sponsor pots and display their branding.
The project is being delivered in partnership with Making Trails, the organisation behind the Burton Barrel and Swan Trail.

The council hopes the trail will encourage outdoor activity across all age groups, strengthen community cohesion, promote environmental awareness through creative planting, and provide a free attraction that boosts local tourism and footfall for businesses.
Branston Town Council has previously delivered community initiatives including the Community Gardens and Planters Project, tree planting at Peace Wood, litter pick campaigns, and annual events such as Party in the Park and the Christmas Light Switch-On.
Local businesses, schools, and community groups are encouraged to get involved and sponsor a pickle pot.
