The Dial hosting afternoon tea event to support ‘The Footprints Family’

The charity, founded by Burtonian Kerry Watson, is reshaping the future for some of Kenya’s most vulnerable children.

Louise from The Dial (Station Street) says the restaurant believes “hospitality is about more than simply serving food and drink – it is about bringing people together and supporting causes that genuinely change lives”.

The team is “proud”, therefore, to be hosting The Footprints Family Afternoon Tea this August, in support of the work being carried out by the charity in Kenya.

The Footprints Family was founded by Burtonian Kerry Watson following her 2007 volunteering trip to the East African country, which inspired her to help provide opportunities that make a positive difference to orphaned, neglected or abandoned children living in horrific situations.

Louise celebrates that for almost 20 years, “The Footprints Family has provided vulnerable and orphaned children with food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, education and emotional support, giving young people hope and the opportunity to build an independent future”.

The Dial is holding its fundraising afternoon tea on Saturday 22 August, from 2pm, and Louise tells the Echo that “every ticket purchased and every pound raised helps continue this vital work”.

We look forward to welcoming our guests on 22 August and playing a small part in helping make a lasting difference to the lives of these children.

The Dial is located at 174-175 Station Street, DE14 1BN.

It is open Tuesday-Thursday 12-8pm, Friday and Saturday 129pm and Sunday 12-4pm (closed Mondays).
