Burton’s Essential Recruitment thanks those who donated to its YMCA Burton food bank collection

Nine bags of food donations were collected, along with a £200 monetary donation.

During May, we invited local businesses and our Essential staff members to collect essential food and toiletry items for YMCA Burton, which could be bundled into emergency food parcels. Overall, we collected nine bags of food donations, and made a £200 monetary donation from our monthly charity pot.

The food bank provides vital support to individuals and families across Burton who are facing hardship. With 2,225 emergency food parcels already distributed since the start of the year, the need is greater than ever. Alongside food support, YMCA Burton also offers accommodation for single homeless adults aged 18-64, mediation and counselling services, homelessness awareness sessions for young people aged 14-18, and much more.

We’re really pleased to have been able to play a small part in supporting the incredible work of the charity, helping those who need it most in the community.

As a business, we believe in supporting the communities we recruit in. Giving back is just one way we can make a positive impact beyond the workplace.

The YMCA Burton food bank is open to everyone, and you can self‑refer. If you need an emergency food parcel or further information, please contact Reconnect: 01283 547 211.
