The kind donations of families who attended Santa’s Grotto at Coopers Square Shopping Centre have now been counted up and donated to YMCA Burton
Across the festive period, Coopers Square welcomed families to Santa’s Grotto, with all proceeds going to YMCA Burton. The event saw remarkable generosity that led to a grand total of £1,197.20 raised, which has now been counted and officially passed over to the charity.
Baljit Kooner, Centre Manager at Coopers Square, said: “We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our customers over the Christmas period. YMCA Burton carries out vital work in our community, supporting vulnerable people and providing safe spaces and opportunities for those who need it most. To be able to hand over £1,197.20 is a testament to the kindness of our shoppers and the strength of our community here at Coopers Square.”
Coopers Square often joins forces with local charities and community groups, reflecting its commitment to giving back and doing its part to support the town of Burton upon Trent.
Next up on the event calendar, it is excited to be teaming up with Imaginarium Creations, who have secured government funding to host a series of free weekly activity workshops at the centre, set to launch on Thursday 19th February.
These sessions will include activities to get children engaging and creating, with the aim to support local families and encourage connection within the local community. This is alongside a “Swap Shop” where families will have the opportunity to trade toys and clothing for more age-appropriate items, fostering sustainability, affordability, and a real sense of community support.
