Staffordshire Libraries is currently taking applications for the next (2026-27) Staffordshire Young Poet Laureate.
The position offers locals aged 14-18 a one-year opportunity to both share and hone their voice. The successful applicant will also receive mentoring from the Staffordshire Poet Laureate, a two-year role which is likewise set to be renewed.
Outgoing Staffordshire Young Poet Laureate Pearl Knight-Dutton described “collaborating with the community around me” as “a real highlight of the role”.
With this opportunity, I’ve really been able to explore more of Staffordshire’s culture through voices of so many different backgrounds, discovering what makes it the unique place that it is.
