A Burton woman has proudly taken home the national title of Miss Beauty UK 2024/26, becoming an inspiring role model for others living with disabilities and challenging starts in life.

Adrianne, 33, has been part of the pageant community for over seven years and now holds a national crown. But her journey has been anything but ordinary.
Born at just 25 weeks in the 1990s, Adrianne was given only a 50/50 chance of survival. She spent six months on a ventilator in hospital and relied on oxygen support for the first three years of her life. Despite the odds, she survived and now refers to the marks left behind as her “survival scars.”
Due to complications from her premature birth, Adrianne lives with Retinopathy of Prematurity, a visual impairment caused by underdeveloped eyes. She also has Dyspraxia, a condition that affects coordination and movement, often leading to clumsiness and challenges with balance and posture.
“I embrace myself in as many ways as I can,” she says. One of those ways is through her work as an Early Years Educator, helping shape the lives of young children.
Despite living with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, Adrianne completed her education and became a qualified early years practitioner. She has recently enrolled in a Level 5 course in Early Years and Childhood Studies to further her knowledge and enhance her career.
Outside of work, Adrianne is an active volunteer and has been involved in charity work since the age of 15. She has raised funds for several causes, including Cancer Research UK, and completed multiple 5K Race for Life events, beginning at just 14 years old.
My journey has taught me to adapt, to create my own coping strategies, and to stay strong even when the support hasn’t always been there. Asking for help hasn’t always been easy because of the stigma, but I’ve learned that it’s okay to need support.

Her pageant platform focuses on raising awareness for hidden disabilities like Dyspraxia, a condition she believes is still not widely understood. Through her presence on stage, she hopes to offer representation for others facing similar challenges.
I never had someone like me to look up to in school or in society. Now I get to be that person for someone else. Especially for those who feel unseen or unheard.
Adrianne continues to use her platform to inspire others and welcomes opportunities to be involved in more community work.
