Richard Wakefield CE Primary Academy Celebrates Glowing SIAMS Report

The school, which is part of Affinity Learning Partnership, was commended for living out its vision: ‘Let all that you do be done in love.” as part of the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.

The inspector found that the message of love and care is deeply rooted in the life of the school.

The report commended the school: Richard Wakefield is a school where ‘love’ is deeply rooted and lived out by pupils and adults. As a result, individuals in the school are recognised as important and loved.

Love is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes how we teach, how we care for one another and how we serve our community. We want every child to feel known, valued and loved for who they are, and I’m so proud that this has been recognised in our SIAMS report. – Joanne Lowe, Headteacher

The report highlighted a number of strengths, including:

• The curriculum places great value on pupils as unique individuals. Learning is designed to help them grow in confidence, curiosity, creativity, and compassion.

• The curriculum is enhanced by a range of outdoor activities and varied school clubs. This enables pupils to develop their individual skills and talents, regardless of their starting points.

• The school’s vision of ‘love’ creates an environment where individuals are treated with dignity and respect.

• Adults model nurturing relationships, encouraging pupils to show care and compassion to one another. This is evident in daily interactions, worship and classroom environments.

The report also praised the partnership between the school and the Affinity Learning Partnership, describing it as mutually beneficial and instrumental in sustaining the school’s distinctive Christian character.

Tis report is a wonderful affirmation of the love and commitment that shines through every part of Richard Wakefield. “The school’s vision is lived out in such a genuine and inclusive way – it’s a community where every child and adult can truly flourish. – Kathy Hardy, CEO of Affinity Learning Partnership
